Dear Parents/Guardians:

There is an all call going out Sunday night for grades 1 and 2.  Here is what the message contains:

I hope you are all doing well.  This is just a reminder that we are welcoming back our first and second grade Purple students, tomorrow, Monday November 2.  Remember Tuesday everyone is virtual due to Election day and Wednesday we will have our Gold in person students.

Remember that Grade 1 comes in the John St Main Entrance between 8:30-8:40 and Grade 2 enters through George St, doors 15 and 16, between 8:30-8:40.

Sincerely,
Sean Dunphy

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Please take note of these 3 important items:

1.) Tomorrow, Friday, October 30, is our first Friday of our Purple/Gold Days.  It is a PURPLE DAY for our in person students (grade PK and K).

2.) Each day, it does not matter whether you are virtual or not, you need to fill out our Covid-19 Questionnaire in Genesis.  Dr. Gurczeski put together the video below to show you how to access the parent portal in Genesis, where you wil be filling out the form.

Covid-19 Form Video

Covid-19 Video (Spanish Video)

3.) Monday, November 2, we begin the second part of our rollout.  Monday is a PURPLE Day.  All students who were assigned PURPLE Day, in person learning in grades 1 and 2, as well as the students who have already been in school this past week are to go to their specified doors.  Grade 1 uses the John Street Main Entrance, Grade 2 uses the George St. entrance by the second grade wing.

Thank you and Be Safe!

Dear Parents/Guardians:

As mentioned in the return to school letter, students returning to school will have grab and go lunches available to them as they leave the building for the day.  They can/will receive multiple meals on the days they are in.  Meals will be provided from Monday - Thursday for in-school students to pick up at the end of the day.  The letter also states that virtual-only students will be able to pick up their meals on Wednesday evenings from 6-7 (at the MHS).  Please note that while virtual only students must pick up at this time, this pick up is not limited to virtual-only students. Parents of in school students can pick up at that time as well.
In addition to this information please note that as we transition back to schools, students who have not yet returned to school will still have the Tuesday/Thursday 12-2pm pick up time at the MHS available to them.  This will continue on 10/27, 10/29, 11/3, and 11/5.  November 5th will be the last day the 12-2 pickup will be available, as all children will be returning to school the following week.  Please remember that these meals are currently free to all students in the South Amboy School district regardless of whether you have been a free, reduced, or paid student in the past.  Please take advantage.
Thank you

Dear Parents/Guardians:

I hope this post finds you well. As our district prepares to return to in-person learning in a hybrid plan, a date has not been set yet to return, we need every parent to fill out a survey for each of their children in the district by Monday, October 12, 2020.   The survey can be found here:

Parent survey

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,

2 items:

  1. There is an all call going out tonight.  Here is what the message contains:

Parents, we have been in school for a month now, and students have been and will continue to be scheduled for student support time with their teachers.  This support time lasts from 1:25 to 2:25.  This time is a crucial part of the school day.  If a child is scheduled for student support time with their teacher it is not optional they need to attend.

  2. Each year we have a nomination process for the Governor's Teacher of the Year and Education Specialist (Librarian, Custodian, Nurse, Social Worker, Paraprofessional, etc.) of the Year. You can nominate one of your current teachers or a teacher from the past that has made an impact in you or your child's life. The staff member must be a current employee. You can nominate a staff member by filling out the nomination form here: TOY/ESOY Nomination Form. Nominations are due by Friday 10/23/20.

Sincerley,
Sean Dunphy
