Learning a new language is a challenging experience and takes great amounts of time and effort. Listening, speaking, reading, and writing are processes that work together. It is my job as the district's English As a Second Language teacher to ensure that all of my students practice all of these skills on a daily basis. Taught together, all four skills give English language learners the ability to construct meaning, express thoughts, and develop writing for a variety of purposes.
